Two killed in separate Highway 105 crashes

Separate crashes on Highway 105 Thursday morning have resulted in two fatalities.

The first happened around 6 am on east of County Road 204. According to DPS, a driver of a pickup truck traveling eastbound attempted to pass a dump truck in a no passing zone. While trying to pass, the pick up his another pickup that was heading westbound.

The driver of the passing pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 27 year old Andrew Young of Waller. The driver of the other westbound truck was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Later in the morning, around 9 am, a second crash occurred west of County Road 204 on Highway 105. DPS says as a result of the traffic from the first crash, a vehicle travelling east on 105 came to a stop and was read ended by a pickup truck.

The driver of that pickup died. She was identified as 35 year old Kayleen Pawlak of College Station. No other injuries were reported.

The names of the victims have not been released.
