On April 21, 2023, around 7:45am Navasota Police Officers responded to the 700 block of Doris Street for a report of an assault. Officers arrived on scene and met with a female juvenile who stated she had been assaulted by a male subject.
During the assault, the female fled into another residence which the male entered and continued to assault the female and stole an item from her before leaving. Officers located the male, Leonard Jessie (18) out of Navasota, in a nearby residence. Leonard Jessie was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence – Impeding Breath, Robbery, and Burglary of a Habitation.
During the investigation, Trayvon Jessie (20) out of Navasota, made threats of violence towards the victim’s family members. Around 2pm, Navasota Police, Grimes County Sheriff, and DPS units executed arrest and search warrants.
Officers located Trayvon in the 500 block of West Washington Avenue and he was taken into custody for a Terroristic Threat warrant.
The search of the residence in the 700 block of Doris Street resulted in the recovery of the stolen item and other evidence. Further charges are pending.
