The day has finally come for another district reclassification and realignment in the UIL system.
Every two years, the UIL goes through a redistricting and reclassification of schools, which go into effect in the Fall of 2020. On Monday, the UIL announced their new alignments for football, basketball and volleyball, with some changes coming for Grimes County schools.
The new districts for football are listed below. All the teams in the Grimes County region highlighted in bold.

Navasota saw the biggest shake up, as they leave 4A Division 1 and drop to 4A Division 2. Iola and Anderson-Shiro each saw one change each compared to the last two years. In Iola’s district, Snook was added. And in Anderson-Shiro’s district, Warren was added.

Navasota, again, saw some movement in basketball and volleyball, joining an entirely different district. Iola and Anderson-Shiro remained virtually unchanged, with exception of a couple additions. Iola’s district added Snook while Anderson-Shiro’s added Hardin and Tarkington.
