UIL Updates Guidelines And “Spectator Expectations” For 2023-24

September 7, 2023 by Willy1550

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) of Texas has some new guidelines for the 2023-24 school year regarding “Spectator Expectations.”

Some of the updated guidelines are as follows:

Refrain from use of controlled substance (alcohol, drugs, vaping, etc.) before, during, and after the game on school property.

Drones are NOT allowed to fly over the footprint of the stadium when teams, officials, bands, and spirit groups are present.

All video broadcasts must be in accordance with UIL Broadcast Guidlines.

School administration for BOTH Home and Visiting teams must come to a mutual agreement to allow live video broadcasts.

Each team may have one video broadcast per game, with prior approval by school administration.

Any other livestreaming broadcasts are NOT permissible per UIL Guidelines.

Additional guidelines may be found at www.uiltexas.org/media/info/2023-2024-broadcast-guidelines
