If you were an agriculture producer affected by the recent rain events in 2018, your may be eligible for help from the USDA.

Agriculture producers in Grimes County and surrounding counties are among those eligible to apply for federal assistance following the flooding from those rain events in September through December. The U-S-D-A has announced applications are being taken for emergency loans through November 12th, 2019.

Grimes is among 13 Texas counties included in the natural disaster area. These Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation or the refinance of certain debts.

Farmers may contact their local USDA service center for further information on eligibility requirements and application procedures for these and other programs. Additional information is also available online at www.farmers.gov/recover.
