Veterinarian and professor at Texas A&M arrested on livestock animal cruelty charge

October 27, 2021 by Andre Perrard

A Texas A&M veterinarian and professor in the vet school is accused of intentionally and knowingly torturing a horse.

44 year old Ashlee Watts was indicted by a Brazos County grand jury last Thursday. As of last Friday, she was still working though she was not seeing patients according to an A and M spokesperson.

On Monday, she went to the Brazos County jail where she was booked then released after posting a ten thousand dollar bond. The only information about the allegations comes from the direct indictment. Watts is accused of “excessively contacting” a horse with a device that delivered an electric shock.

The vet is also accused of knowing her conduct was not a generally and otherwise lawful form of conduct.
