VFW Post 4006 searching for a Marine to head up “Toys for Tots”

November 26, 2018 by Andre Perrard

VFW Post 4006 here in Navasota needs your help as soon as possible. They are seeking either a current marine or marine veteran to head up the “Toys for Tots” program in Grimes County. Commander Carl Dry from the VFW post says he has taken it upon himself to try and find someone. He also says it has been quite some time since the program has been done in Grimes County.

“I was approached by the American legion to see if we could find a marine or marine veteran to head up the program for Grimes County kids. Apparently, they have not had anyone for Grimes County in a couple of years. And a lot of Grimes County kids have gone pretty much without toys at Christmas time,” Dry said. “So, I decided to take the bull by the horns and see if we could find someone. But it has to be headed up by a marine or a marine veteran.”

If you know someone who can help, or you would like some more information, you can contact Commander Dry at the VFW at 936-825-5013, or email dry34@reagan.com.
