Wallace Pack Unit inmate serving 70 years for murder dies

April 22, 2019 by Andre Perrard

An inmate serving time for a 1978 murder has died at the Wallace Pack Unit in Navasota.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokesman Jeremy Desel says that 79 year old Edward Harold Bell died on Saturday. Bell was serving 70 years for a 1978 murder near Houston and was under investigation in the unsolved killings of multiple missing girls.

Desel said that no foul play was suspected and did not discuss Bell’s medical history due to privacy laws.

In 2011, Bell claimed to have killed as many as 11 girls in the 1970s.

The 70 year sentence Bell was serving was for killing an ex-Marine from Pasadena.
