Waller County Sheriff Office warns of police impersonator pulling cars over

June 22, 2021 by Willy1550

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a warning to local travelers of someone impersonating police.

According to their Facebook, a driver was pulled over on Joseph Road near FM 1448 Saturday night, north of Prairie View. The driver said they saw red and blue flashing lights, on what looked like a Dodge Charger, that had no law enforcement markings.

The driver says that is when someone got out of the car and approached them with drawn gun. The driver says they took off to a family member’s home, with the flashing lights vehicle following them to the neighborhood, but not going inside.

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office says they know this to not be someone in their organization, as they do not make stops in unmarked vehicles and deputies wear clearly identifiable uniforms.

They ask that, if you had a similar experience, contact them. If you find yourself pulled over, and are unsure of who is behind your vehicle, contact 9-1-1, or 936-826-8282.
