Grimes County Emergency Management has announced the opening of warming centers around the county that include:
-Bedias Fire Department
-Iola Fire Department
-Anderson City Hall
-Richards Fire Department
-Plantersville Fire Department
-Whitehall Fire Department and Todd Mission City Hall.
-Shiro Fire Department
-Shiro Civic Center
These warming centers will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. beginning today to Wednesday, the 22nd.
Depending on the weather, they will consider keeping them open longer if they are still needed after Wednesday.
The City of Navasota will open the Navasota Center as a warming center at 6 p.m. and it will remain open through Wednesday morning or afternoon, depending on need. They will provide bottled water, coffee, hot chocolate, along with blankets, tables and chairs.
