The replacement of the water main at LaSalle and Washington in Navasota is approaching its long awaited end.
“We have the main line on Washington Avenue that has been replaced, completed, and all tied in. So, that is some of the reason for low water pressure in the area, the line was filling up. The water also needs to be tested in the area…once we do that, we can start with the actual water meter tie-ins in those blocks,” said utility director Jennifer Reyna at Monday’s city council meeting.
Beyond that, the asphalt goes in, and there are just a few little things to wrap up.
“We have one fire hydrant left to replace, in front of Wells Fargo. There was 4 total to replace, and all have been done except that one. Everything has moved okay, we have had a few hiccups, but nothing out of the ordinary for new construction,” said Reyna.
In her update to council, Reyna mentioned briefly that the AWOS system construction at the airport is slightly behind schedule.
