The weekly COVID-19 update for Grimes County adds 11 new cases, as most everything stays the same following the Christmas week.
According to the release sent Tuesday afternoon, the county is now at 1,043 cases since March, which is up 11 from last week. County active cases sit at 178, which is down one from last week’s update. 92 of those active cases are in Navasota.
Recoveries did increase once again, and the county now sits at 836 recovered since March, with 425 of them from Navasota.
No new deaths were added again, which means the running death total for the county continues to sit at 24 since March.
Biggest number jump was in testing once again, with now 17,449 tests having been performed, a rise of well over 1,000 from last week.
For the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, both units in Grimes County remain on the dashboard as having active cases. Out at the Pack Unit, according to the dashboard, there are 9 active cases, up one from last week, with one of them an offender and eight employees.
For the Luther Unit, they saw an increase in active cases again, jumping up back to 28 active cases again. Of those, sixteen are offenders and twelve of them employees.
