An addition of 40 new cases in the weekly COVID-19 update push the total closer to the 1,000 threshold for Grimes County.

In the release sent out on Monday afternoon, the county has seen 970 cases since March 2020, which is up 40 from last week. There was another slight spike in active cases as well, jumping up 17 cases, to put the county active cases number at 205. Of those, 95 active are in Navasota.

More recoveries were added, 17 to be exact, to bring the total recovered to 735, with 376 of the recoveries in Navasota.

There was another death added to the running tally, which is now at 24 since March 2020. That death is not necessarily from the last week, and might be from previous months.
