Wildcats Return to Old Carver High

June 26, 2015 by Willy1550

Graduates and former students of George Washington Carver High School will congregate and celebrate their old stomping grounds at their annual reunion (6/26)this weekend, continuing the spirit of the wildcats.

Alumni association president and graduate Callie Boon Day tells Navasota News, every year the event picks a church to visit. This year, it’s Lee Tabernacle United Methodist Church on North La Salle, as the event’s place of worship and memorial to friends who have passed on.

And, she adds, for the first time this year, they’ll be adding a parade to the Saturday’s list of festivities.

After the parade, she continues, there will be a semi-formal banquet and dance at the Navasota Center which will cost $50, but only $20 if you are just in the mood to dance. Proceeds go to scholarship funds and upkeep of the Carver Community Center.

That’s the George Washington Carver High School Reunion, this Friday evening through Sunday. For a full list of events or more details, call 936-825-3429.
