Winter weather continues to cause issues for us in Grimes County, even as we approach the weekend.
Power has returned for everyone in the county, which is a welcome sight. Entergy restored all power to the customers, here in Grimes County at least, last night. If you still have an outage, they ask that you report it. At last check on the Mid-South outage map, they had one total customer in the county still without service, as of about 2 pm Friday.
As a note, the Progressive Outreach Center in Navasota is opening its doors for anyone in need. It is open free of charge, they just ask that you bring pillows and blankets. The number to call for that is 936-825-4846.
Boil water notices remain in effect for Anderson, Roans Prairie, Richards, and Shiro. Outside the county, Brenham and Madisonville los have boil water notices in effect until further notice.
Navasota remains under a boil water notice as well, after the large water main break last week.
If you are in need of water, C-Force bottling has cases at their headquarters. Arlan’s is open until 6 pm, Brookshire Brothers until 7 pm, and Walmart until 11 pm. Restaurant wise, Carol’s Giant Burger’s is open until 6 pm, and Martin’s Sweet Shop is open until 6 pm.
Once again, if you have any pictures or video, send them to us on Facebook, or by text at 936-825-9007.
