Grimes County is now the home to America’s youngest mayor.
He was sworn in on Sunday evening at just seven months old. William Charles “Charlie” McMillian was inaugurated at the Mayor of Whitehall on Sunday night, with nearly 150 people in attendance.
He was elected to serve the community in October at the Whitehall Volunteer Firefighter Department BBQ, where every year, the position of mayor is auctioned off.
This year, Charlie was the highest bidder and therefore “elected” as the youngest mayor in America.
The child’s motto is to “Make America Kind Again,” according to the mayor’s adopted father.
On the schedule for the newly elected Mayor is a visit with local congressman and senator Ted Cruz in Washington DC next month.
