A man who was found guilty of a road rage incident near Iola has been sentenced to almost two decades in prison.

The Grimes County District Attorney’s Office says they sentenced 52 year old Blake Jon Arrington on Monday. The office says that witnesses included a therapist who has since treated the children, plus their father.

In April 2021, Arrington chased a mother driving with her kids near Iola, as her husband followed behind. Arrington tried running the family off the roadway, banged on their hood, and drove head-on toward them before the father was able to deter him.

Arrington was found guilty in October 2022 on charges of Aggravated Assault and Endangering a Child. He was handed a total of 18 years in prison on Monday, and is awaiting transfer to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Arrington has no prior criminal convictions.
