Madisonville business owner facing numerous child sexual abuse charges gets additional felony charge

April 21, 2021 by Willy1550

The Madisonville business owner, previously arrested on numerous child sexual assault charges, has another charge leveled against him.

46 year old Jose Jaime Rivera of Bryan, owner of the El Mecadito store on Highway 75, turned himself in Monday, April 19th at 9 am. His new charge is Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact, which is a second degree felony.

Rivera was arrested originally on February 26th, when police searched his Madisonville store. No mention was made what they found, but Rivera was arrested then, and charged with two counts of Sexual Assault of a Child, and then one count each of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, Sexual Abuse of a Child Continuous: Victim Under 14, and Indecency with a Child by Sexual Assault.

Rivera originally bonded out back in March on $195,000, and recently was released after posting a $20,000 bond on Wednesday.
