Man who eluded Navasota Police in June caught in another police chase by Madison County deputies

December 27, 2021 by Andre Perrard

A College Station man accused of eluding Navasota and College Station police in a stolen vehicle in June is now charged of leading Madison County sheriff’s deputies in a stolen vehicle.

According to the Madison County sheriff’s Facebook page, 34 year old Matthew Jarrett of College Station is accused of burglarizing post office boxes in North Zulch, east of Bryan, along with post offices in Leon County and Waller County.

Jarrett, who refused to pull over, led deputies on a high speed pursuit in a vehicle stolen in Waller County. The chase ended when Jarrett crashed in Bryan.

He was in a chase June 12th when he flashed a handgun while driving a stolen vehicle in Navasota. He was apprehended one week later.

In addition to charges from the stolen vehicles and chases, Jarrett is awaiting seven criminal trials in Brazos County on burglary and drug charges.
